THE SWAMP IS CALLING!! DANG RIGHT, DAHNKEY! SHREKTOBERFEST IS BACKKKKK!!!! This year, it's a tale of two swamps: ASHEVILLE & DURHAM!! Mark yer calendars for September 21st, and get yer ogre-sized self ready for a day of Shrek-filled fun! Onions, costumes, and prizes galore – it's Shrektoberfest, baby!!!
ASHEVILLE SCHEDULE
Oy, listen up! SHREKTOBERFEST 2024 is here, and it's gonna be bigger than me swamp! Saturday, September 21st kickin' off at 3 PM sharp. Get yer green behinds here early to sign up for all the mad activities listed below, 'cause those spots'll be gone quicker than your gum drop button! And don’t forget to come in costume—ya might just snag yerself a $100 cash prize, aye! It’s more than a oktoberfest it’s a SHREKTOBERFEST!
3:00 PM – First up, it’s the “Onion Toss and Can Match Extravaganza” Test yer ogre strength and brainpower by hurlin’ onions and matchin’ the right cans. Stickers, beer tokens, and onion glory await those who conquer! It’s good fun for all the swamp-dwellers out there!
4:00 PM – Next, it’s the “Hey Now You’re an Allstar Bottle Flip Elimination” Flip that bottle and pass it along, but if the music stops and it’s still in yer grubby mitts, you’re outta the swamp! No swampin’ around!
5:00 PM – Round up yer mates for the “Swamp Pong Gauntlet” Who’s got the skills to win this muck-filled battle? We’ll see who’s the real DAHNKEY KAHN of pong! Get ready to pong like an ogre!
7:00 PM – Then, it’s time for the grand showdown—the “Ogre and Ogrette Steinhold Competition” Hold that stein steady, and prove you’re the last Shrek standin’. Only the strongest ogres will survive!
8:00 PM – Ready those vocal cords for the “Shrek Roar Competition” Give us yer best, mightiest, and downright ogre-iest roar! The finest roarer wins a proper SHREKTOBERFEST sign and a gift card to DSSOLVR. You’ll make ol’ Shrek proud!
8:30 PM – And just before we kick off the dance party, it’s the “Costume Contest!” Dress up as yer favorite fairytale character, and ya might just waltz away with that $100 cash prize! Show us what ya got, ya big ogre!
And when the sun sets and the moon rises, it’s time for the grand finale—the “Shrek Dance Party!” DJ @bridal.parti.burcardi and @dj.bru.haus will be bringin' the swamp beats. Live, laugh, and SHREK the night away!

12:00 PM - We’re kicking things off with our Shrektoberfest Art Market from 12-5 PM! Browse through a curated selection of local artisans offering Shrek-themed creations, fairy tale-inspired crafts, and unique handmade goods. Keep yer eye out for a special glass blowing demo from @sherlocksonbroadway at 6 PM.
2:00 PM – Then, it’s the “Shrekstravagant Feast Onion Eating Contest!” Ogres are like onions. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. You get it?!? Gift cards & Shrek-themed goodies await the onion-eating champion.
3:00 PM – Next, it’s the “Ogre-Achiever Shrek Trivia!” Throw down that extra swampy knowledge and conquer four rounds of Shrek Trivia hosted by @notrocketsciencetrivia!
4:00 PM – Then, it’s time for the grand showdown—the “Ogre and Ogrette Steinhold Competition!” Hold that stein steady, and prove you’re the last Shrek standin’. Only the strongest ogres will survive!
5:00 PM – Don your finest threads for our “Straight Outta Swampton Costume Contest!” Dress up as yer favorite fairytale character, and ya might just waltz away with gift cards, Shrek swag, and a Shrek soundtrack vinyl! Show us what ya got, ya big ogre!
7:00 PM – The party continues with the “Allstar Afterparty!” DJ Heartless will be bringin’ the swamp beats. Live, laugh, and SHREK the night away!
