Pottery Paint + Sip w/ Crumbware // NEW DATE!! 2.3.26
Scratch the creative itch! Carve a mug and sip a beer at Dssolvr brewing!
Sgraffito, from the Italian word “graffito” meaning “to scratch,” is a traditional pottery decorating technique. The process involves applying layers of underglaze to leather-hard clay, then scratching through the surface to expose the clay beneath.
Each purchase = 1 mug
No experience needed! Julia, your workshop instructor, will help you step by step to create a design that’s unique to you. You will have everything you need to carve, including:
-
One 8 oz mug
-
An array of glaze colors to choose from
-
Paintbrushes, stencils, and carving tools
Important Details:
Location: DSSOLVR Brewing 63 N Lexington Ave, Asheville, NC 28801
Date: January 27th
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
After painting and carving, the mug is kiln-fired twice at Julia’s studio. It takes about one week to complete this process. This makes your mug functional. Food safe and dishwasher safe! You will be notified when your mug is ready to be picked up at Dssolvr.
Cash Options:
If you prefer to pay in cash, please email [email protected]with your name and the number of mugs you’d like to reserve. Cash pays $40 at the time of the event.
Please Note:
During firing, the kiln reaches temperatures over 2000°F. While rare, issues can occasionally occur in this process. Julia handles each piece with great care, and if any mishaps happen, she’s happy to discuss a refund, free workshop, or redo.
