Pints and Pottery: Ghost Luminaries – DURHAM
Date: Monday, October 5, 2026, 6pm – 8:30pm
Location:Durham Dssolvr Brewery, 630 Rigsbee Ave, Durham, NC 27701.
Enjoy a brew while you design and sculpt ghost luminaries! You will be provided with cream-white clay from which you can make two ghost figures that will sit over led tea lights to make a sweet Halloween luminary. We will do basic hand building, cut holes for the light to shine through, and you can decorate the pieces by carving or with stamps if you choose.
At the end of class, I will take your artwork to my studio to be fired, glazed, and fired again. You will have the choice between a sky blue, jade green, cobalt blue, yellow, pink or clear glaze (pictured here).
The final product will include a tea light!
They will be available for pick-up at Dssolvr Brewery in Durham once they are finished.
***Very important*** Pottery is a bit of science and a lot of physics, and random things happen in the creation process. I will try my absolute best to care for your creation from start to finish, but strange things do happen as pots dry, such as cracking and warping. I will explain how you can likely prevent them while we are sculpting, but I’m always surprised by what clay will do. By signing up for this class, you accept the fate of the kiln gods, and there are no refunds or replacements for projects that do not survive the process.
